Growing up in India, I never came out of the closet. Makeup was the one place I felt safe, my quiet escape. I never saw it as a career… just a little pocket of peace I protected for myself. Looking at these BTS moments from my elfcosmetics campaign, I’m amazed at how far that little boy has come. I’ve learned that most of the boundaries we feel are the ones we build within. The day I decided to become a full-time makeup creator was the day I finally broke my own limitation. In choosing myself, I healed myself.
