A short-lived nightclub for teens: The Yellow Lion was a wild spot in the ‘70s! ➡️ The Gahanna shopping center was transformed into “central Ohio’s swingingest nightclub” in the mid-1970s. Some nights were all ages, while others were teens-only. The club’s run was short lived, closing before the end of the decade. In 1980, it was discovered that a gasoline leak from a nearby gas station – three years earlier – had contaminated groundwater beneath the building. The concentration of fumes became so high that it was deemed an explosion risk, and the shopping center was demolished entirely. Today, a new building stands at 245 Granville St., home to businesses like Golden Delight Bakery, Star Dry Cleaners, and the Mighty Lion car wash (pictured). #gahanna #columbus #gahannalions
