Is scoring down so far this season in the NLL? 100%, yes.
Scoring has slipped about three goals per game (combined total between both teams in one game), which would be a whopping 380ish fewer goals across the league’s 126-game season this year. That’s a lot.
Do regular seasons usually start like this and see a steady uptick in goals while shooters heat up? Recent numbers say no.
Below are the average number of goals scored per game (combined two-team total) over the first three weeks of every season since coming out of the pandemic, how many goals per game are averaged (again, from a combined final score) over a full season, plus the +/- in those categories from season to season.
