Throughout our journey across the country this year, seeing the next generation fall in love with the beautiful game in various communities across America has been one of the most inspiring aspects of it all. And getting to witness “Just Ball” in Los Angeles felt like the perfect culmination of that. On Saturday, hundreds of families gathered at Lab Five in Gardena to enjoy what felt like a dream day of soccer. Whether it was playing foot golf, designing kits, customizing soccer bags, grabbing local bites to eat, or playing in pickup games for hours, it was an event built with and for the people who live in the area. At one point, we climbed to the top of the club house overlooking the fields, and it was breathtaking to see dozens of kids walking the streets to come participate in this free program by the ussoccerfoundation.
