Starting 17th, Vonn shook off a slow open before absolutely torching the bottom of the downhill course, finishing in 1:29.63 and leaving the field in the dust by over a full second. ⏰
The victory is Vonn’s first World Cup win since 2018 and her second straight podium after last season’s emotional return, proving she’s not just back, she’s a medal contender again. 🥇
With new coach (and ski legend) Aksel Lund Svindal in her corner, Vonn said the offseason work paid off: “I knew I was skiing fast… I think I was a little faster than I expected.” 🤣
