Last Friday, I was very surprised to receive an email that one of my favorite photos from this year is a finalist for the #worldsportsphotographyawards This is the first time I’ve submitted anything for a contest. I sat on the fence of what’s the worst that could happen? (Literally nothing) Then, what’s the best that could happen? Idk, the odds are small; there’s so much talent, but also nothing to lose, so why not? 23,000 entries later, and one photo that (as all of them do) came from being in the right place at the right time on a summer morning in New Zealand. So many creators I admire and have been inspired by are on this list, or have been in previous years. That’s pretty incredible, and I am so grateful. I feel validated that I’m exactly where I’m supposed to be, having fun, and doing what I LOVE!
