Buckle up… my husband deserves this novel of recognition. After months of planning between us and an architect Taylor found to draw up a replicate of the old farmhouse on our property, we broke ground on December 4, 2024 . It’s very important that I tell you we actually moved in the weekend before Thanksgiving so my husband knows that you all know he accomplished a custom home build in under a year. He decided to GC the build and through all the contractors, I know that managing the designer (aka me) was the toughest. The building process came with the normal challenges like supply delays but a couple of challenges that were truly us. Like, we took a trip to downtown Charlotte to retrieve our barn cat who decided that the inside of the waterproofing box truck looked like a fun place to explore. That tale alone could be a movie.
