Alexis Thompson of @childrensphila discussed her groundbreaking research on sickle cell disease at a recent Medicine Grand Rounds. Her clinical research was instrumental in the approval of the first gene therapies for sickle cell disease. She is a past president of the American Society of Hematology (@ash_hematology) and the current division chief of hematology at CHOP.
