The 159th Founder’s Week, a multi-day celebration honoring the institution’s legacy while marking a new chapter in its history, will take place from Tuesday, February 10, 2026, through Sunday, February 15, 2026. The week will feature the inauguration of Dr. F. DuBois Bowman ’92 as the College’s 13th president, alongside the 38th Annual “A Candle in the Dark” Gala & Inaugural Ball, presented by The JME Group.
Founder’s Week will also recognize the 2026 Bennie Award honorees— James L. Hudson ’61, Willie Woods ’85, and Willie Underwood III ’88— and Candle Award honorees Eric G. Johnson, Dr. Robert L. Satcher, and John Legend, whose achievements reflect leadership, service, and excellence across industries.
Additional events include a historic pilgrimage to Augusta, faculty and student-centered programs, the Founder’s Day Convocation, the Morehouse College vs. Clark Atlanta University Basketball Game, worship services, and a culminating Glee Club concert.
