Mellon Foundation, USC Upstate humanities students are gaining real-world experience through paid internships that strengthen cultural and non-profit organizations while making an impact close to home. To celebrate this effort, we're excited to launch our #HumanitiesHighlights 💚 Meet history major Ava Baker, '28. She is gaining hands-on archival experience through an internship with the Piedmont Historical Preservation Society! She’s helping catalog and organize historical documents that tell the story of our region. Baker's work mirrors what museum professionals do every day. "It’s a good opportunity for people who are not quite experienced...and to get paid doing it, so they know what their work is worth."
