Weekly Snow Science Drop ❄️🌍 This week, we’re heading north to the Arctic, where changes are happening faster than anywhere else on Earth. 🧊 The Arctic is warming three times faster than the global average. 📉 The 18 lowest sea ice extents have all occurred in the past 18 years. 🧊 Since 1979, sea ice loss has averaged 77,000 km² per year - that’s nearly the entire land area of Austria 🇦🇹. And remember: what happens in the Arctic doesn’t stay in the Arctic.
