16-year-old Charlotte Astor has spent the last four years relentlessly searching for a cassette tape. But it’s not just any tape — it’s a demo from hardcore band Seed, featuring her mother at just 14 years old singing lead vocals. The band sold every copy of the demo at their shows in and around New Jersey, but no members thought to hold onto a copy — or anything else Seed-related — for posterity. So Charlotte sent the call out on social media: If anyone has this tape, or footage of Seed send it over to her at xnjstraightedgex@gmail.com. “I want it for me, because it’s such an important reason I am who I am today,” Charlotte said. “Actually, everything I’ve done has been — in this big, strange way — inspired by this demo.” 🔗 Click the link in bio to read more 🖊️ Reporting by AJ McDougall / NJ.com #nj #newjersey
