In November 2013, the NBA dropped “Jingle Hoops,” a live-action commercial built to promote Christmas Day games and the league’s new sleeved jerseys.
The spot featured Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, James Harden, Steve Nash, and LeBron James. What looked like a single continuous shot was actually a precision production, combining individual filming, exact timing, and visual effects.
Each player wore an earpiece with cues on when to shoot and which of the five hoops to target. Despite the seamless finish, the players were never on the court together due to scheduling.
A decade later, it is still widely viewed as the gold standard for NBA Christmas marketing.
