2025 theme: Women’s sports are not charity.
The most incredible moment of my 2025 was having the privilege to speak before Congress about my experience as a track and cross-country athlete at Duke: navigating the changing landscape of NIL, publishing my book on sports nutrition and the dangers of perfectionism in elite athletics, and watching that work propel me to the forefront of advocacy for female Olympic sport athletes.
This year proved what we’ve been saying all along: women’s sports don’t need handouts, they need platforms.
The numbers speak for themselves:
✔️ Women’s sports revenue hit $2.35 billion globally in 2025, a 25% increase from $1.88 billion in 2024
✔️ Total viewing hours across WNBA, NCAA women’s basketball, and NWSL reached ~370 million in 2024 - up 430% from 2021
✔️ Women’s sports revenues have risen 240% in just four years, from $692 million in 2022 to $2.35 billion in 2025
