Do it for you. ❤️🔥
I’ve been to the world stage, I’ve broken national records, I’ve broken world records…but after 4 years of doing this sport I recently realized that isn’t what matters.
I used to be so focused on winning, which isn’t a bad thing until it becomes all you care about. What taking a break from powerlifting has taught me is that the most rewarding thing about this sport is beating yourself. I came back into powerlifting majorly set back from the numbers I use to hit. This was discouraging until I kept getting stronger and stronger and saw my hard work to get “back” pay off.
Of course I want to be the best, to win, but being the best now in my heart is showing up everyday and giving it my all. That’s how you win. Not by a title, or medal. I am a powerlifter because it’s FUN, it lights a fire in me, it’s my passion. Seeing the progress I have made instead of focusing on what others are lifting has truly let me be at peace.
I love powerlifting not because of the end...
