Recipe: ½ cup unsalted butter - softened (or shortening) ⅔ cup light brown sugar 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting 1 tablespoon ground ginger 1 ½ tablespoon ground cinnamon ⅛ teaspoon salt ½ cup heavy cream (or any milk) ½ cup molasses Crushed hard candy. I used jolly ranchers. Add the flour, ginger, cinnamon, and salt to a large mixing bowl. Sift to combine. Set aside. Cream together the butter and the sugar with your electric mixer until just combined. Scrape down the sides. Add the milk and molasses and stir on low until well incorporated.
