Juvenile Gang Member Arrested, Firearms Recovered SCV Sheriff’s JAG (Juvenile and Gang) detectives and school resource deputies continue proactive efforts to keep SCV safe through directed patrols targeting juvenile crime and gang-related activity. Recently, while conducting a specialized patrol in Newhall, deputies observed a male juvenile they recognized as a known local gang member inhaling from a balloon. When they attempted to contact the juvenile regarding a potential nitrous oxide violation, he attempted to flee on foot but ultimately was detained without incident. 👍 During the detention, deputies discovered the juvenile was in possession of a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number. Based on additional investigative information, JAG detectives obtained and served a search warrant at the juvenile’s residence, where two additional firearms were located inside the juvenile’s bedroom.
