A basket house update: As many of you know, Mr. Babs and I are renovating a one bedroom cottage in a historic neighborhood. In the 1800s, it was a basket shop where baskets were woven and sold. Our goal has been to restore what we could and, when we had to renovate, to be true to the style and age of the home and neighborhood. What a wonderful way to kick off the new year together and share an update. This has been such a labor of love. If everything goes as planned, we will have a furnished cottage by mid-February. It’s been quite a journey; we’ve had many helping hands. I can’t wait to share our completed home with you soon where so many memories will be made. 1. We enclosed the porch. There was previously lattice on the porch, and there is much overlap with lattice and baskets, so it helped us also tell the story of the basket house, so we incorporated it into the design.
