My granddaughter Willa had her christening this weekend; It was such a beautiful day✝️ Willa wore something old and something new…a little string of pearls with a tiny gold cross made so many years ago and her new gold cross necklace from her Godmother .❤️ When my firstborn daughter, Erin, was born I started a pearl necklace for her. Each year, I added one inch to the necklace, and the plan was that by the time she turned 18, she would have an 18-inch string of pearls. My best-laid plans were just that…plans. We were raising four children, and with hardly any disposable income, the necklace remained only about 7 inches for so many years. Now, with the Baptism of my youngest granddaughter, the pearls were resurrected, and I cried to see them on the day of her Christening. On her next birthday, an inch will be added!
