My brother Patrick--a proud New Orleans resident, a new father and a phenomenal emergency room doctor--is working the COVID-19 ward at his hospital outside of the city today. And so I will spend the entirety of the day feeling horribly panicked and worried. Behind every single smiling photo I post these days is crippling fear for someone I love who's devoted his life to helping others and bringing them comfort in the darkest and scariest moments of their lives. For now, though, I'm going to put on a happy face for my little girls who are absolutely obsessed with their uncle because he's a fun uncle (#funcle) who tickles and chases them and researches Disney princesses so he knows what he's talking about and brings them coloring books and activities whenever he sees them *just because.* And when I get too sad, I'll slip into the bathroom so my tiny daughters don't see their mom crying, and then we'll all play a game or have a dance party or do whatever else I can manage to come up with,...
