It surprises me that in 2022 people still are shocked to see all types of families. It definitely was more of the principle with this one. After 5 years of you all knowing us, you’re talking about us because we don’t fit into your narrative of what a family look like…then, you just now want to have a conversation in front of my son about the validity of our family. Absolutely not! But people will say to me, “They’re just curious” or “They didn’t mean any harm” etc…but to be honest, it absolutely harms my 5 year old who at times will place his hands over his ears because he’s tired of hearing negative conversations when we’re out in public about our family not matching solely based on skin color! Enough is enough and I will protect his mental well being at all cost.
