Earlier today while on FB Live, Ayden showed me a test where he made a 💯 ...while I was reviewing it, I noticed he spelled "Physical" wrong, not once but several times throughout the test. I went back and forth with him about how important it is to know how to spell words correctly as one letter off at times often mean something different and can be a totally different word altogether. When we got home, I explained to him further why spelling words correctly are important. I provided him with the opportunity to make a choice...the choice being 1. He was okay with misspelling words or 2. He'd research on his own how to spell it and be a confident, strong speller in the future. He chose choice 1 and I was okay with that as it was his choice. A few hours later, he came to me and handed me this paper. He said, "Mom, after thinking about what you said, you were right. I need to challenge myself to be a better speller and even if my teacher don't care about misspelled words, I should." 🥺...
