"Not All Heroes Wear Capes" when referring to a foster/adoptive parent is definitely 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩 Heroes are notoriously known for "saving people" from something As a foster/adoptive mom, I know that what my husband and I chose to do was a blessing but we are in no way saviors! When I hear, those children are lucky or you saved those children's lives, I cringe 😬...these kids didn't asked to be save. We didn't swoop down like superheroes at the end of the day and same them from a "horror story." Everyone's perceives horror differently. While I think what we do is something God placed in our hearts, I'll never make my children feel like they owe me for "saving them"...they deserved every ounce of love, care, support, encouragement, etc...because of who they are, not because of what "the system" has told them they are not.
