I never want to intentionally or unintentionally offend someone. I was raised that saying yes and no ma'am were signs of respect. However, if we are ever going to move the hand forward we have to start effect conversations, especially when the person is willing to be educated and change. I felt bad for offending the person and I wish instead of becoming upset and refusing me service, they would have simply stated what they preferred instead. As I apologized, I asked this very question but they just walked off. Because this restaurant is in my community it's highly likely that I'll eat there again and therefore a possibility I may see this same server. I will be mindful going forward to not say ma'am or sir instead just "Thank You." Which is what I've now been told that is the most inclusive ❤ #inclusion #respect #maam #sir #education
