I've had the pleasure of seeing 6 reunifications through and in my case, it was ALWAYS the best decision for those children. They are now happy, healthy, and thriving. I'm just honored that the birth parents have allowed me to keep in contact with them ❤🙏🏾. I always get asked is "giving the child back to be reunified hard?" Of course it's hard but it's beautiful! 🗣The Goal Of The Foster Parent is to keep the children safe and thriving UNTIL reunification! Our hearts grow and we do get attached, and that's not a bad thing! Attachments are healthy and encouraged so the child(ren) can feel that security and love that may not have otherwise been received beforehand. It is not the foster parents job to rehabilitate the birth parents. We have to trust that the professionals that are working their case is doing what's necessary to help them work their reunification plan. Second chances are beautiful. We all make mistakes.
