🗣This is not an appropriate response to a mother who has adopted! I was recently in a mom's adoption group and we were discussing and processing the things that we hear on a daily basis from other mothers who've had children naturally. This comment really struck a cord with me. While I understood where the mom may have been coming from, her comment was hurtful and unnecessary. For one, some women would absolutely love to have a "mom body and stretch marks" if it meant bringing a child in this world. The trade off for having fertility struggles is not being able to brag about how good your body looks because you did not birth your child! Just because we're adoptive moms does not for one second exclude us from having to give up or sacrifice our bodies as well. Adoptive mothers may have the opportunity to breastfeed their children.
