Let just be honest for a moment.. When my husband and I decided to foster, "color" was the furthest thing from our minds. If color was a big deal for us, then we wouldn't have become foster parents. Foster parenting is more about helping children in need versus concerning yourself with race. Once posting a video of our son's adoption in 2019, we went viral. Why? It's not like people haven't adopted before, right? I don't need to really tell you the reason we went viral, but just so we're clear, it was solely because the world wasn't used to seeing transracial adoption in reverse. Black parents to a white son, how sway 🤔...can't be real, no way! So ma'am you see, if it wasn't for people minding our business then we wouldn't be so "concerned with color" but because others are, then you'll get what you get! It's not like Rick and I were the first black people to adopt a white child and I'm sure we won't be the last. However, I've seen so many families like ours go through the same issue...
