When we started our journey to become a foster family, we were in the dark. We had a lot of questions and fears but we knew that God would provide all of our needs. In the classes, I listened intently and learned with vigor and purpose. I never wanted the children that we would have the privilege of meeting to feel like we were ill equipped to care for them. I wanted them to feel like this was their home and we were their family despite how long they would or would not be with us. The funny thing about foster care is, we go in thinking we are the ones that will be helping...but in actuality the kids that come into our lives teach us WAYYYYY more than we'll ever teach them.
