Had a candid, open, and much needed conversation with my grandmother tonight. GG is so wise and when she speaks I listen. After she asked how myself, Rick, and the kids were doing, said, "Keia, you know what? People better wake up and realize that there is no room for bigotry in America. I'm 80 years old and seen more than what I've wanted to with racism and it's getting old. Just like there's no room for bigotry, there's also no room for division. When our white brothers and sisters want to help, we can't bite their heads off when they don't get it right the first time, they are learning how best to help a people who they've never lived their struggle, and that's commendable. And the white people have to just open their ears and listen, not take offense. Every time a POC opens their mouth about some injustice, it doesn't require a response...we just want you to hear the plea and take action. People better start looking at each other's hearts and not their skin color or they will miss...
