Yesterday, my
#daughters were supposed to attend their first
#prom. All the planning and preparation that went into making sure the prom would have been all they dreamt it would be...came to a halt due to
#covid19 and the
#quarantine. The prom was canceled and I could see the sadness in their faces. Yes, they will have an opportunity to go to the prom next year, but their dates are
#seniors and unfortunately will not have this experience. .

I hate that people are coming at
#parents of teens that are legit grieving their high school experiences saying things like, "people are dying" or "it could be worse" or "they will get over it." All this may be true, but guess what, as a
#therapist, I'm well aware how the
#grieving process works, how it affects people differently, and how they need to adjust to a time none of us have ever seen or experienced before. So bash me if you may, I don't care! I made sure my daughter's still had a prom! Their brothers were their dates! They were sooo happ...
