BREAKING: The East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) players will be going on strike effective this Friday, December 26th as the players union & league have been unable to come to agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement. This will include players on the New Jersey Devils ECHL affiliate, the Adirondack Thunder, as the players will not report to work following the Holiday Break to play.
Players in the ECHL have been playing without a CBA for the entire season, but negotiations have continued and an agreement has not been made, resulting in this incoming work stoppage.
Therefore, all ECHL games will not be played until further notice beginning this Friday unless a deal can be struck last minute prior to then. Several Devils prospects & players on AHL deals in the New Jersey pipeline will/could be affected by the strike, including but not limited to: Tyler Brennan, Jakub Malek, Jeremy Brodeur, Cam Squires, Josh Filmon, Dylan Wendt, Jeremy Hanzel, Ryan Wheeler, Tag Bertuzzi, Jackson...
