Traveling and getting to see the world is such a privilege. Sometimes it feels selfish not to share moments that feel this overwhelming and beautiful. When I first started working Champions League, I told my boss I’d never been to Europe, except once, playing in the U17 World Cup in Azerbaijan. I only saw the stadium and the inside of my hotel. He was genuinely surprised, and then incredibly intentional about making sure I actually got to experience it. My first real city was Rome. I cried all day. I couldn’t believe the beauty, or that I was really there.
