The Trump admin is escalating its immigration crackdown measures and asking U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services’ field offices to “supply Office of Immigration Litigation with 100-200 denaturalization cases per month” in the upcoming 2026 fiscal year according to an internal guidance, the New York Times reported. A person can be denaturalized for reasons including committing fraud while applying for citizenship, illegally gaining U.S. citizenship, and misrepresenting facts during the naturalization process, and U.S.C.I.S. spokesperson Matthew J. Tragesser has said the agency will “pursue denaturalization proceedings for those individuals lying or misrepresenting themselves during the naturalization process.” #Denaturalization #Immigration #USCitizenship #HLOG
