#StudentSpotlight: Morehouse baseball standout Elijah Pinckney ’26 has been selected to the USA Basketball Foundation’s Torch Leadership in Sport Mentoring Cohort, a national program designed to develop the next generation of BIPOC leaders in sport.⁠ ⁠ Chosen from more than 230 applicants, Pinckney is one of ten students nationwide selected for the 2026 cohort. The Torch program offers direct mentorship from USA Basketball executives, exposure to industry leaders, and in-person learning opportunities designed to prepare students for careers across the sports ecosystem.⁠ ⁠ Administered by the USA Basketball Foundation, Torch supports high-achieving students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a commitment to service.
