The owners of Ghost Ranch announced Tuesday a 6,000-acre conservation easement deal made possible through partnership with the New Mexico Land Conservancy and the state will protect the same vistas that Georgia O’Keeffe memorialized in her artwork. More than $900,000 from the Land of Enchantment Legacy Fund has been made available through the state’s Natural Heritage Conservation Act Program. The parties are also seeking a $800,000 grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to full cover the first of two phases of the easement. The easement will remain in place in perpetuity.
