home·com·ing
/noun/
a return to a place that once held you; a reunion with the parts of yourself you thought you lost.
Homecoming hits different in your 30s.
Because at this stage, it’s less about reliving the past and more about remembering who you have always been. I’ve lived a lot of life since my University of Miami days… so many transitions that stretched me and shaped me in ways I never could have predicted.
Yet walking these same sidewalks again with the same people I walked them with so many years ago, I felt that familiar version of myself rise back up. Not the old me.
The CORE me.
These people just get it. They get me. And, that is a different kind of home 🥹
This weekend reminded me that even when life changes, even when you evolve, even when you outgrow old versions of yourself, there will always be places and people who anchor you… Not because they hold you to who you were, but because they have grown right alongside you 🧡🌴
