Friendly reminder that “average” is just that - an average with TONS of outliers on each side. Kids grow at different rates, and percentiles don’t define them. In just the past few weeks, my daughter and her cousin/best friend (one very tall, one on the shorter side) have both been teased about their height. As parents, we have the power to shape how our kids see and speak to others. Instead of pointing out differences in a way that makes others feel small (no pun intended), we can teach them to celebrate what makes everyone special and unique. A simple shift from “Why are you so tall?” to “Wow, your long legs make you fast!” or “I love your style!” helps kids build each other up instead of tearing each other down. Let’s raise the next generation to be kind ♥️ Have your kids experienced comments about their height (or anything else that makes them stand out)? #raisingkindkids #heightdifference #tallkids #tallkid #momlife
