Did I look silly at the trunk or treat in this costume? Yes. Was it totally worth it to see the smiles on their faces? Also yes 🥹 I’m not always a fun mom. Some days, I’m the preoccupied mom. More days than I like to admit, I’m the short tempered mom. I know I’m not perfect. None of us are - and that’s OK. But, as so many people have said, if you’re worried about whether or not you’re a good mom, it probably means you’re a good mom. This was something small that I knew would absolutely make my kids’ day and it was so worth it to see how thrilled they were to have me join in on their fun. Even though it may not be everyday, when I can, I do want to be that mom who plays along with them instead of watching from the sidelines. I hope they look back and remember this day (and all the other days like it) when their mom happily joined in on their fun, participating instead of spectating.
