When my dad passed away in 2011, one of my regrets was that I didn’t feel like we had enough everyday, candid pictures and videos with him. I get that for many, they’re “just” pictures, but when the pictures are all you have to look back on, they mean the world. These photos that my dear friend @wilder_shots_ took of me and my family are my favorite in home photos that we have ever taken because they truly capture the essence of who we are and how we live. In our documentary style session, she told us to act like she wasn’t there and just be ourselves, doing things that we would normally do together. Since my kids LOVE her (and I do to), acting like she wasn’t there was easier said than done 😂 but she was still able to capture us and all of our personalities perfectly as we spent the afternoon doing what we do best - enjoying each other. #familyphotos #documentaryphotography #athomephotoshoot #blackfamily #mylittlefamily
