Outside and attached to me are Harper’s two favorite places to be. If she can have both at once, she’s a happy, happy baby. I often find myself daydreaming about boat days and sand castles because I can’t wait to see how she’s going to react to the beach. But, as much as I love the summer, fall is my favorite season largely because it’s cool enough to cuddle without getting hot. These cuddles are the very best kind, and Harper has taught me so many lessons about being present in the here and now and not always being so future oriented. She doesn’t care about next week, tomorrow, or even an hour from now, which is, if you ask me, the best way to live.
