For the last 6 weeks, it’s been just Harper and me (and a couple of super supportive family members that we appreciate to no end). Hubby had to go ahead to Italy without us while we stayed back to take care of some of the logistical things that come along with having a new baby. This is something that overseas basketball families know all too well and not a experience that is unique to us. Most days were good, some were great, and a few were downright terrible as I battled the loneliness that came along with being without my partner while adjusting to life as a new mom. While it was difficult for me at times, I know that it must have been even harder for my husband who had to leave us, family, friends, and familiarity to start his basketball season. I can only imagine how left out he must have felt missing out on the last few weeks with his princess.
