It is regarded as one of the ‘jewels of Snowdonia’, but because of climate change and unusual weather patterns this year, the existence of a rare plant could be in danger. Tufted saxifrage, a tiny cluster of leaves with delicate white flowers, is one of the rarest plants in Wales and dates back to the ice-age. Just seven of them still exist. Scientists say the plant disappearing should be "an alarm bell for us all".
