Poderosas like Karol G and Zoe Saldaña made history, with La Bichota becoming the first contemporary Latin American artist to ever perform at the Vatican and first Latina to headline Coachella in 2026 and Saldaña sweeping at this year’s award’s show as the first Dominican to ever win an Oscar, the first Dominican-American to win a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, and the first Dominican and second Afro-Latina to win the SAG Award for Best Supporting Actress. On the other hand, Mexican beauty Queen Fátima Bosch and Arizona senator Analise Ortiz took a stand for women and our communities, with Bosch speaking out against mistreatment in the Miss Universe franchise and winning the crown in the end and Ortiz posting ICE locations and activity to protect her community despite backlash.
