Chappell Roan has apologised for her tribute to the late actress Brigitte Bardot, claiming she did not know the 'insane sh*t Ms. Bardot stood for'.
After it was announced that Bardot had died at age 91, the Grammy winner took to her Instagram Story on Sunday 28 December, writing, “Rest in peace Ms. Bardot. She was my inspiration for red wine supernova.”
However, the singer later deleted the post and instead uploaded a story on Monday 29 December which said: “Holy sh*t I did not know all that insane sh*t Mr. Bardot stood for. I do not condone this. Very disappointing to learn.”
After retiring from acting at the age of 39, Bardot became involved in far right activist movements, backing National Front candidates, including Catherine Megret and Marine Le Pen.
