Earlier this month, in partnership with the chesapeakebayfoundation, teammates from across the brand came together to build oyster cages on campus. Before their dramatic decline, the Chesapeake Bay’s native oysters were a powerful natural force in the Bay ecosystem, filtering contaminants from the water and providing habitat for crabs and fish. To bring back this key species, CBF created the Oyster Restoration Program, which helps grow native oysters and transplant them to sanctuary reefs. Next month, #UA teammates will return to fill the cages with oysters and set up an oyster garden at our new Global HQ at Port Covington. Next spring/early summer, we will partner again with CBF to pick up the oysters to be planted out on a sanctuary reef on the Patapsco River. #lifeatua #sustainableliving #savetheplanet #savethebay #savetheearth
