BASE | (NEWS) Joe Matarazzo Named Assistant Baseball Coach Susquehanna University baseball head coach Denny Bowers has announced Joe Matarazzo as the River Hawks' new assistant coach. He joins fellow coaches Bowers, Troy Allen, and Zach McCoy as the baseball team begins competition in February. Matarazzo, a New Jersey native, comes over after a two-year stint as the head baseball coach at his alma mater County College of Morris (CCM). Matarazzo joined the CCM baseball coaching staff in 2023 as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator. He was promoted to head coach the following year, leading the Titans to the 2024 Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) championship as he had a head-coaching record of 51-38. They made the regional semifinals all three years as the program boasted one All-American in 2023, a Regional Player of the Year in 2024, and six First Team All-Region honorees between 2023-25.
