Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani was sworn in on Thursday at the historic former City Hall subway station, becoming New York's first Muslim and youngest mayor. The swearing-in was led by New York Attorney General Letitia James, with Mamdani taking his oath by placing his hand on the Quran, moments after the New Year countdown struck midnight.
