“After a week of fundraising and hard work, we are beyond excited to announce that between various philanthropy events on campus, #WFU students, relatives, affiliates, and community members have raised over half a million dollars this week for various charities! At @wfuwakenshake, our 1400+ dancers were able to raise $376,730.29 (and counting) for cancer research! Sigma Chi Fraternity surpassed their fundraising goal for their Derby Days philanthropy, raising $97,507 for the kids at Brenner Children's Hospital! Kappa Delta Sorority hosted their annual Shamrock 5k benefiting Prevent Child Abuse America, raising $13,000 and Kappa Alpha Theta sorority raised $19,000 during their annual Spring Philanthropy Event (CASA Royale) with proceeds going to Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). We could not have done this without the dedication of our students, relatives, faculty, staff, student organizations, and generous friends.
