UPDATE: As reported last night by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, North Carolina State running back transfer Hollywood Smothers will no longer be visiting Florida State anymore and will be taking a visit to the Crimson Tide instead. Personally, this is a situation where I believe that the Seminoles have bigger fish to fry than the running back position with Ousmane Kromah and Sam Singleton Jr. I don’t want to discount the fact that Smothers is a very talented back, but the Seminoles won seven games in two years. They have to get better at certain positions, and they have to do it quickly. Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn even addressed that this past year was difficult for him since he didn’t have a workhorse back to rely on, since it was a committee approach. With that said, new assistant coach Kam Martin has produced a 1000-yard rusher in each of the last four years.
