#AlumniAchievement: The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) has announced the hiring of Marques E. Zak ’05 as its inaugural Chief Marketing and Brand Officer, marking a significant milestone in the Conference’s efforts to strengthen its brand and expand fan engagement across its 18 member institutions.
In this newly created executive role, Zak will lead and execute the ACC’s marketing and brand strategy, overseeing initiatives across digital, social, and live experiences. Zak joins the ACC from American Express, where he served as Head of Multicultural Marketing and launched the company’s first enterprise-wide multicultural marketing strategy. His work focused on building culturally resonant campaigns and partnerships that deepened engagement with Gen Z and millennial audiences. He was inducted into the 2024 AAF Advertising Hall of Achievement in recognition of his impact.
